A feeling of remorse is all but unsung.

Most merchants will only pay you 25% of your item's value. And when they sell to you, they charge more than the item's value.

I changed it so that they pay you 75% of your item's value. I left their sale prices alone.

I changed 39 merchants in the designermerchants.erf.
(All of them except for store_arl150cr_lloyd_extra and the 10 merchants that start with zz).
------------------------------------------------------------

Installation instructions:

Put the designermerchants.erf file into your

C:\Program Files (x86)\Dragon Age\packages\core\override folder.

Note that this won't affect merchants that you've already visited in your current game.  If you are late in game create a new game.  It works best with a new game.

I did not create this mod and all entitled credits go to tywiggins.

If you're going for realism, 75% of new value is too high. I suggest you add several variations of the mod with scaling %. Ie 33% and 50%.

Agreed, I'd like to see a 50% mod, 75% is too much and while you *can* get by with 25% sell-rate, it's much more fun to find high value items knowing you will get back half of its costs...

Yorien says:

even better, ¿why don't you make it skill dependant?. You might use the "talking skill", available to all characters (the one you use on Persuade/Intimidate checks).

No Ranks = 25%
Rank 1 = 40%
Rank 2 = 60%
Rank 3 = 80%
Rank 4 = 100%

Much too high. Just about everyone maxes Coercion. Remember that almost all your money is gained through selling loot, increasing to resale value to 50% nearly doubles the amount of money you make. 100% and we're talking ridiculously broken amounts. A pure cheat giving you a million gold would be more honest.

Then just lower the percents for each Coercion rank.

1= 15%
2= 25%
3= 38%
4= 50%

Ya you are eventually going to get to rank 4 but thats when the full potential and purpose of the mod fits in. Plus, at low levels you are getting less for loot making it a bit more challenging too!

So, you have no ranks onto Coercion and sell at 25% base price, then you add a point to coercion and get a 15%...

It's just myself, or Coercion "should" grant a bonus to selling price instead of a penalty?.

25% is the programmed "base value" for selling... so I think that's the minimum you should gonna sell anything for... any changes should be made upwards, not downwards.

Well, in the end, its Rheinguard who'll decide if the mod stays like now or if it's gonna be changed.

A simple solution to that problem would be:

0 - 25%
1 - 27%
2 - 30%
3 - 32%
4 - 35%

or (slightly more overpowered)

0 - 25%
1 - 30%
2 - 35%
3 - 40%
4 - 45%

Please note that it was tywiggins who created this mod, not me.  I'm just your friendly neighborhood downloads Admin.  I'm reading a lot of ToolSet tutorials and hopefully one day I'll create my own.  Tongue

Do you get 100% of the purchase price back after using your car for 5 years? Or let me put it this way: Would you pay 100% of an items value after it's been taken of a dead dwarven body and has been in the possession of a diseased, rotten, killing Darkspawn?

Nah, 100% certainly isn't realistic and besides, we're talking about a fantasy world here, it shouldn't be based on realism or at least not alone. It should be about fun and a tad more money for your hard earned items is a lot more fun than the 25% we are currently getting.
