New version is up (awaiting approval).

It should fix the killing blow problem.

i havnt had any trouble with this mod. but i also havnt had to do any finishers that i noticed that happening. Maybe next time i get on i will have to look for this. but so far it makes the game MUCH more enjoyable for me cause without it my guys just look like idiots and i dont know how anyone could ever take them seriously

Agreed... every Rogue who puts on a 'helmet' in DA looks foolish. I actually prefer >=medium armor helms on rogues. they look better.

I was not completely aware that the mod unequips the helm and puts it back into your backpack. I thought it just removes the helm graphics and reenables the graphics during fights. Imagine my surprise when I sold all the "extra loot" in my backpack then headed out to a fight and found out that I have sold all my unequipped helms at the merchant. Thank god for the buyback feature.

Yeah, I know. I should have read the description of the mod closely as it says that the mod does unequip the helm. I was tired and have been playing past midnight otherwise I probably would have caught it. Just a warning to those that like to play tired, double check the items you are selling before you sell your unequipped helms.

Otherwise, great mod! I truly enjoy seeing my party members expressions when they talk to each other.

To avoid the locked appearance when you level up, don't level by clicking the + next to the portrait

Press C to open your character panel, switch to that char ( or take over that char then press C) and click the "Level Up" button in that window.  This method does not cause your characters to bug out.

Certain status effects seem to be causing permanent helm removal, or perhaps its the pause feature during combat while under status effect.  With the latest version I'll often find my helmets are in the backpack and have to be manually equipped again after big fights with lots of magic stuff going on.  I'm guessing its the status effects, it could be the tactics I have set up for all I know, switching weapons and such that's causing the confusion.

It should be re-equipping helms when the store opens, if it's not doing that then something's gone arse up.

I'm having the same problem with helms randomly disappearing from characters and moving to inventory.  It's not just happening with the characters in my active party.  When I just went back to camp, the helms for all of the NPCs had moved to inventory.

Ah, I don't think that should be happening, when you open the party picker it should re-equip everyone's helm, same as any other ui. It might be doing something screwey when you exit though, I'll have to take a look.

Hi guys

I'm sorry am not too familiar with the boards here (just started downloading mods and stuff last night) anyways, im not sure if theres another similar mod but i installed a mod that removes helm and equips them back (dunno if its this one in case there are others) and i'm having trouble now doing the dwarf commoner origins in which i need to wear the helmet to act in behalf of someone (to avoid spoilers and such)

Just wanting to report

thanks

A further comment on the bug.  The biggest problem is with the Blood Dragon Helm.  I'm doing the Anvil of the Void and it disappears with every save and every cut scene.  I'm at the end of the quest and it won't stay on the character.  Every time I go into inventory (even without saving), the helm is unequipped.  It was not this bad until recently.  Other helmets disappear during cut scenes, but not every time.  Also, I'm noticing it happens with some frequency with Bergen's Honor and the Libertarian's Cowl, but rarely with the Helm of Honnleath.

Can you disable this mod without damaging the save game?  I keep getting a warning that I would endanger the save games if I do that.

That does happen with this mod, just disable it until after the proving.

Just ignore that warning and click force load.. while it's conceivable that disabling some DLC's could cause problems, its no problem whatsoever with 99% of them.

I think what's happening is the mod is using the position of the team member of the group as part of it's checks and balances. This certainly might be necessary, as I am not a coder. yet what's happening is when you change out members to the helm say from Alistair who was in slot 1, is now occupied by Wynne she now is wearing his Massive metal helm. I have switched out members finding Rogues wearing Mage gear, Mages wearing Warrior gear.

Next cats and dogs will be sleeping together, the end is nigh!   Grin

Thanks for version 4, it clears up the helms staying in previous slot, if a different team member is switched out.  Smiley

Im getting a few problems that I think are being caused by this mod.

First is a problem with the running animation when the game is quicksaved and i am running. when its done saving the character will 'walk' like hes got a stick up his ass. not a big deal... i just stop moving and when i push 'w' again to run, its fixed.

Next problem is a bunch of clipping which i believe your mod is causing because it started after this download. its not a big deal for me because ive already beaten it but... what i see is black around some bodies and other things usually after dialogue. I will try to get a screen shot of this so you can see it.

Also, i get a glitch every now and then which keeps the helmet on your char. even if its unequiped. a repeated equip/unequip does nothing but restarting the game with the helmet off fixes it.

Other than those I dont seem to have any problems. Thanks again for this mod, i love it.
